Breathe Deeply

Patience is a virtue.

Patience is the most trying thing to hold onto.

Patience is stopping when you’re in a hurry because you are getting frustrated. You stop, breathe, step back, and go again.

Patience is trying and trying and trying. And failing. And failing. And having minimal success.

It’s finding the positive in a dark place, singing in the midnight hour when you really want to walk away.

Patience is having a child with exceptional needs and knowing that all the love in the world won’t fix this. It’s having the sheer will power to slow down your life to their level and live in their bliss.

Those 8 letters are joy and peace, acceptance and grievances, love and contentment.

Learning patience has brought with it a multitude of traits that I didn’t hold before, but mostly, it has brought me an appreciation for the fragility of life and the innocence of a child who will too soon leave me.

Have patience: your time and the time of those you love is limited.
